I've looked up white flies & it's not them. They seem quite harmless. My description is teeny, tiny, feathery, dainty,
flying sprites. Cute in fact. I can crush them in two fingers with no problem. Practically need a magnifying glass to see if it's a bug or another "what is this?"
Never an invasion, just slowly drifting about like cotton wood trees do only prettier and no clean up required. No particular plant involved. Just Really Need To Know if I may be wrong about the word Harmless. March 20th is our first day of spring ya'll.
Looks like you're a lot warmer than we are! It'll be minus zero at nite for the next 5 days. I wrap my doggie's feet she's such a pokey gotta smell evr'y inch of the yard. I notice these cute little tufts in the spring early summer; they do not last long either. So I figure no harm done. I'm just so curious, can't find a pic anywhere. I don't think I could snap one either i.e. the spec that they are.
You darling............................this absolutely must be whats, the "what" is................I can never catch one to see a thing.............. it's kinda if you touch one they just disappear/smash to become magically gone/dead I suppose...............haven't seen any this year. I'm thinkin' all the incessant rain is their demise.
The damnedable earwigs are invading our entire area ...............Can't even put the hose on Jet to drive them off of anything; they seem to flatten themselves like a mouse and crawl into the cracks around the house and in the cement cracks.......I think they'll stay outside tho............I've used Diatomaceous Earth from the feed store; it really does seem to hold them back well.............I'll re-powder evr'y week or so around the house.....the way it works is neat...... the feed store manager uses it in the barn to diminish all crawling anythings........ I'm also putting it 'round the slug areas.....

Too chicken to lift any rock for the earwigs are in the dozens under any damp/dark place.... gotta trim my shrubs and the space is full of bark/mulch; they must be having a party under there....spiders would be a welcome relief from those "wigs". They even burrow into the throats of flowers to live in the gathered moisture. (the beasties are just as creepy as June Bugs only worse; we haven't seen a single one of the JB's 'round here this season)
The gardens are all but croaked and brown; or full of holes from the chomping "wigs", cut pretty much everything down already (one mo. earlier than the previous yrs.) It looks like the final hurrah of fall back there...aaaarrrrgggghhhh depressing!
