this time of year.. in MI ... [i am down in adrian] ..... with the furnace running what seems non-stop ... sucking all the humidity out of the house.. it is not uncommon to have leaf issues ...

and i would do EXACTLY what you did... pull off the ugly ones ...

you water when they need water.. insert finger and find out ... three weeks is a long time... in a furnace house in the arctic.. lol ... watering is an art.. not a calender science ... check.. dont guess ....

you would probably learn a lot about houseplants.. in the houseplant forum ...

one trick i suggest.. with heirloom plants.. learn how to propagate them.. and make a second.. for failsafe purposes ...

a pic of the whole might make a difference ... to my opinions ...

Please post an image of the entire plant.

And don't remove any more leaves which have only one small blemish. It needs all the chlorophyll (green stuff) it can get.
