Sevin is one brand of Carbryl a broad spectrum poison known to kill as many beneficial insects as it does insect pests.
I have not seen, from any reliable source, anything about using lime to control earwigs and I have seen a lot of really bad advice about controlling them.
There are garlic sprays that will repel them, just be aware that your garden will smell like a Pizza Parlor.
If earwigs are a problem in your garden learn about them and the environment they like and work at changing that, if possible, to reduce the population rather then spray poisons that will harm other insects and you.
