also.. there is a very active fruit forum .... as a source of other .. more specific experts ...

as compared to other trees.. fruit are very short lived.. and require massive preventative sprayings.. 3 to 5 times per year .... though sour/tart cherry is usually not one of the foo foo ones ....

but that said .... i would never have used a fruit as a memorial ....

perhaps .. an alternative is to replace the next one with some other tree ... but you will cross that road some other time ...
