keeping dogs out of the garden/beds

Does anyone have experience with a good dog repellent? I have a good fence around my veggie garden, but I need to keep the dog from eating and digging up all my new trees and berry bushes. I think he smells me on them, because I can guarantee he always goes after something I just put in the ground.

Are you adding anything to the soil when you plant? Like bonemeal? Fertilizer?

You need to fence them off for a while.

And if you're using organic ferts (as asked above), don't do so whenever the dog has access to such plantings.

My dogs can dig up organic fertilized plants faster than I can put them in the ground. My veggie bed is now fenced off. And other plants don't need fertilizer in our clay-based soil.
