chilli problem

hi there i was just wonderimg if anyone could tell me why my hot chilli plants went a light green colour last year and then died off ni matter what extra care i gave them :-[ they were watered and fed but stil nothing helped i have no photos as it was last year but many garden centres could not tell me as i dont want the same happening this year again.. any help would be apreciacated :-) thank u all

We're they real young when they died? If so, could've been "damping off" fungus. Which is usually caused by OVERwatering. Need more info -- transplants or direct sow? Where do you live? Also, you may want to visit the hot pepper forum.
