Psychedelic Bug... Pest or Beneficial?

Saw this guy on my goji berry today hanging out. Any ideas what it might be? I live in the northwest part of Houston, TX.

That looks like the immature form of Lady Bug, which is a very good beneficial indeed. In that form they eat something like 40 times what an adult lady bug eats.

Awesome! That makes sense. I have seen a lot of lady bugs on the goji berries since we put them in. For some reason they must really like them. :)

I do not know that lady bugs like goji berries but they like to eat aphids! The presence of both adults and larvae on your plants indicate that they have set up house on your plant.. and they may be eating something that is eating your plants - Aphids!
