Nectarine Die Back

Hi all, please help!

A few leaves on the ends of my nectarine twigs are just dying in clumps. Not swelling like Leaf Curl, just shriveling. I noticed these weird blobs of clear gel next to the dead leaves. What can I do??

Thanks
spaz

This is one of the blobs. It shows white because I sprayed lime sulfur as soon as I saw leaf distress. It's a gel-like consistency, not pitchy.
Any ideas?

Looks a lot like bacterial blight/canker. Common in stone fruits.

Where do you live?

Redding CA. Been rainy and mid 60s with occasional sunny 70s.

Suggest you verify w/ your county's UC Extension Service office. Whatever the diagnosis, they can also suggest appropriate management.

Find your office w/ this clickable map

Here is a link that might be useful: locate your county's Extension Service office
