| My Husband found a small egg shaped cocoon that is brown in color with a grey or tan ring around the middle (sort of Easter Egg like). The insect inside is popping the shell causing the cocoon to jump and spin around. It's not a 'Mexican Jumping Bean', that much I do know. My Husband discovered it at the trunk of a tree when it literally popped up out of the ground. Can anyone identify? |

| Was this at the base of an oak? You might google "jumping oak gall" if so. We have them here in KS, usually on and near bur oak. hortster |
