Bug Eating Wisteria Foliage

I tried searching the Internet for known pests but none seem to match this odd bug I have. It's big, adults maybe 1/3 inch long, kinda looks like a grasshopper, theirs black specks crusted on some leaves, probably poop or maybe even larvae. The bug is very active and responsive to its surroundings, too fast for me to catch without destroying the plant. Theirs holes developing all over the leaves, they look like nibble marks and have appeared around the same time as the bug so I can only assume it's the bugs doing. Plant is young, chinese wisteria, in a 1 gallon pot (was thinking about bonsai it) vigorously growing and otherwise healthy.

I'll start by ruling out what I know it's not. Aphids scale any winged creatures Beatles and any bug with a shell.
