This guy was in my living room ceiling all night long without moving, any chance it's a lacewing?

It's really hard to see with that small, dark picture. I doubt it's a lacewing. There are a few moths that look like that, but it's probably from some other group (fly-related).

It would be nice to know what size this insect is. It appears to be one of the fish flies...like Dobsonflies, for example. Do you live near a body of fresh water?

Rhizo its about 2 inches maybe slightly more long and yes I have some standing water close to my house.

An insect of the 'fish fly' family lives the first (and primary) part of its life in water....a pond, lake, creek, river. The aquatic larvae are pretty ferocious predators. They are also much favored fish BAIT! ;-)
