Your shrub is Viburnum suspensum, very popular in the deep south. It occasionally suffers from one of the many fungal disorders collectively called 'leaf spot disease '.

This shrub is very problem free unless there's a problem with how it has been grown. Are the plants too crowded, overly fertilized, growing in the shade, maybe even sheared every year?

The good news is that these shrubs can be "cured " and then maintained so that this doesn't happen again. However, I need to know more about how this plant has been grown. Can we see more pictures of them in their surroundings? Stand back from the plants so we can see how tall they are, what's growing around them.

Thank you much for your reply rhizo_1 - I attached a photo so you can see how they are grown - They are sheared once a month and they get sunlight for at least 6 hours a day.

does the sun reflect off that glass and bake them ...

perhaps you had an extra cold winter.. like the rest of us.. even if FL ... a cold night.. followed by a nice baking the next day ... can cause leaf damage ...

and once damaged.. opens up the leaf to disease ... no damage.. no disease ...

they are shrubs.. fert is rarely if ever the issue ...

was the lawn sprayed at any time??

Most leaf spot diseases are facilitated by free water on the leaves. sprinklers, rainfall, and long periods of dew are all possibilities.

How are the plants irrigated?
