Japanese Beetle Larvae?

Looks to me like the Japanese Beetle larva, any thoughts? Found it while transplanting a tomato plant last night, about 5-6 inches down. Very lethargic when I pulled it out, got more active, right before he met the heel of my shoe.

It's a scarab beetle grub for certain and may be a japanese beetle, but there are other scarab beetles common to our gardens.

There are some 30,000 scarab beetles world wide with some of the more commonly known being the June Bug and Japanese Beetle. The grubs, larva, do make good fish baits or are often considered a great delicacy by the birds as long as some do not need to hunt for them.
