Have you gone out to check after dark with a flashlight? That's the best time to see slugs, caterpillars, earwigs, pillbugs, etc.

Its getting frustrating, because I checked last night with a flashlight and saw nothing. Come back in the AM and there's more damage. I thought cabbage worm, but can't find any. Then I read beetles perhaps. Haven't seen any.

I'm betting caterpillars. Usually, you want to identify, then treat. But BT K variant is used proactively in my garden. Do you see little white butterflies flying around in the day? If so, cabbage loopers.

BT is very low impact, only affects caterpillars, and doesn't harm beneficial insects. Available at any nursery or garden center.

I removed the damaged leaves, because they were eating them rapidly. I first used the flour and Cayenne Pepper. Didn't work at all. They ate more. Mixed garlic cloves, onions, Cayenne Pepper, and baby shampoo. Sprayed the Cabbage. Taaadaaa, no more holes!

So I got a few days reprieve and the chomper is back more viscous than ever. Eating the entire middles out of my cabbage. :'( I had hoped to remain organic, but it's not working.

Anybody had this problem and was successful at getting rid of the culprit???

Well I found a slug eating away at my cabbage last night. Think he's the culprit destroying it. I had been using Epsom Salts and slug killer. Guess those things don't work. :(
