if you grew it indoors..

it was NOT properly hardened off to real sun.. and got sunburnt ..

note the new leaves.. that have developed since the injury.. ARE hardened off to sun ... and not damaged ...

am i close??

ignore them.. and when they have put out a dozen more leaves.. just snip the ugly ones off.. and dont tell anyone.. lol...

I'm new too, and I would have thought that's some insect because of the stippling in the lower leaves and the holes. I didn't know that sun damage can also look like an insect has been chewing on the leaves.

Can't tell by just looking at a photo, but the plant looks basically healthy and sunburnt as Ken said. Holes may or may not have been 'nibbled'. When tissues gets necrotic and dies, it can fall away from the plant,. because it gets crispy. If you look closely, the holes are in necrotic and dead spots. I suspect it'll just grow out of it as it becomes adjusted to its new exposure and see what happens to the newer leaves as they unfold.
