It looks like cucumber mosaic virus, something you should attend to as soon as possible as it can spread to certain other plants. Below is a link to one of the cooperative extension sites with information.

also on zuchs and cantaloupe? What about the small plants in the background? Are they ok?

I'd suggest herbicide damage.

I'd never seen anything like that before, so did some research. CMV is just my guess. Could be something else.

Cantalopes and zukes, like cukes, are in the curcurbit family and are susceptible to CMV ... as are a whole host of other vegetable and ornamental plants. See page 8 of the Illinois Ext. fact sheet for a partial list that will make your head spin.

I'd never seen anything like that before this spring, when it happened to my currant bushes - it looks like the exact same thing. I looked under the affected leaves and found what I assume to be a species of aphids - a super tiny green version. Neem oil has been effective so far at knocking them down greatly, when sprayed directly on the underside of the leaf.

Granted currants and curcurbits are very different plants - still, it might be worth looking. Aphids can carry the CMV, if I understand correctly. Good luck!

Yuck! Anyone have a clue? Zucchini plant. Also, thanks to all that answered my last inquiry. Pulling all my food out of the ground and starting over. Guess it's good we're having a cooler, wetter, start to the season.

So, I pulled all the plants in my garden beds that looked to have the virus. My new question is can I re-plant in those beds or is there something I should do to the dirt before I plant new? It has been raining here for 3 days and everything is saturated. We have partly cloudy w/ chances of thunderstorms everyday and temps in the high 80's, for the next week.

Go ahead and replant.
