Erik, I don't think that those are eggs at all but one of the many species of slime molds. Those organisms aren't molds nor a fungus of some sort but a simple protist and not harmful at all to you or your plants.

Take another picture before dark, then another one tomorrow sometime so we can see the progression.

That makes sense because we had a nice rain last night and I did inoculate the soil.

Show us pictures in a couple of days and we'll see if these little nubs turn out to be baby mushrooms. Could be. If not, slime molds are not part of any inoculant. Again...not a fungus.

I went out to look at it again probably an hr and a half after that and they had all disappeared. Strange stuff.

many fungus... shrooms ... etc .... do indeed just disappear ... as do many of these type of things.. i am relying on rhiz for ID ... its like there is a moment in time.. where conditions are simply perfect.. they explode.. the moment is over.. and poof.. gone ...

they thrive in warm damp places... and then it dries.. and heat moves in.. and you are left.. scratching your head.. wondering where they went ...

many are composting wood or unfinished compost in the soil ... hence we would prefer to see some actual plant damage.. and get an ID .... before we start treating the plants ...

there is a very active pepper forum ... should you wish to see if it is somehow plant related.. the hotheads there might recognize is.. though i doubt it.. since i dont think its pepper related ...

in my entire gardening life ... i have never inoculated my soil ... be careful.. .that you dont get lulled into marketing hype.. and spend money.. that need not be spent ... if your peppers are going to end up $50 a pound ... it ends up a bit counterproductive to growing your own stuff ...
