New Pear fruit tree has red dots on leaves

We planted a little pear fruit tree last year. I've never planted any fruit trees before and kind of avoided them because I don't know how to take care of the issues associated with fruit trees. My kids love pears and wanted a fruit tree.

This year, my six y.o. noticed the pear tree had little dark red spots on the leaves and asked me if the tree had a decease. I was just happy the tree came back and hadn't noticed. Of course, I don't have a clue what this is or how to treat it. I would appreciate any help. Thank you.

(The red spots are just red, they have not outline colors).

If the leaves are truly that yellow, then I suggest the red spots are the least of your worries.

it would be nice to know.. where you are. ... what zone... and if there has been any frost or freeze since the leaves emerged ...

have you ever had a soil test done??? .. jean is suggesting something nutritional is way out of whack ... like pH or some such ....

a call to your COUNTY extension office.. might get a quick answer if the soils in your area are generally bad in some regard ...

I don't think the leaves are that yellow (it was really sunny when I took the photo) just light green. They are pretty new leaves right now.

I don't think there's been a frost since the leaves emerged.

No soil test.

The lawn sprayed with what? We fertilized the lawn with Weed n'Feed granules earlier this Spring.

Clearly, I don't know much. It's frustrating.
