David maple dying

I have a 3-stemmed young Acer davidii (striped-bark maple) that just started dying. Two of the stems have dark discoloration of the bark and the leaves wilted and died shortly after coming out. At this time the remaining stem is okay, but I'm afraid it will be infected as well. I also have A. rufinerve (red striped -bark maple) in my back yard that is begining to show discoloration on the bark. Verticillium wilt? Anthracnose? Pseudomonas?
Any ideas?
