Spraying your plants with alcohol will do more damage to the plants then the Spider Mites might and spraying with broad spectrum poisons will kill off the predators of those Spider Mites and most likely not harm them.
Spider Mites are more often a problem during hot, dry weather so increasing the humidity around the plants can be of help. Perhaps this from UCDavis IPM will be of help.

I mixed up a batch of Neem oil & spreader/sticker and soaked the remains of my plants today. We have a storm coming so no sunshine. The Neem should do its job before the rain hits.

It looks like the plants have survived the spraying. It will take some time to see about the spider mites.
