I have for many years had problems with onion maggots on my onions. So I cover the onion bed with Remay and as a result get a crop of onions. I also grow leeks but have not ever had trouble. However yesterday I was transplanting leek seedlings. Very shortly after I planted the leeks a swarm of the adult form of the onion maggot appeared. If they have laid eggs around the seedlings is there anything I can do to either prevent hatching or kill the maggots?
