Mosquito traps using propane

I have a 1/2 acre yard, residential neighborhood, with a mosquito problem.

I'd like to try one of the mosquito trap systems like Mosquito Magnet or SkeeterVac.

(And yes spraying is the next step after this).

Anyone have any experience with these systems? A lot of people seem to like them, but they do have maintenance issues too.

it always bothers me.. when it is suggested that you basically LURE THEM TO YOUR YARD... to take action ..

i always said.. with those Japanese beetle lure thingees.. that you give them as gifts.. to your upwind neighbors .. to lure the AWAY from your yard .. lol ..

back in the day ... i probably shouldnt admit this.. lol ... i believe malation was labeled for such ... i would spray.. the interior of all my shrubs.. the patio .. the brick house facing.. etc ... to discourage all their DAYTIME hiding places .... and that removed a vast majority of the blood suckers ... because they had to move down the street to find hiding holes...

i also got some old fashioned oil lamps.. and filled them with citronella oil ... this was pre-kid days ...

anyway.. think about the luring them to your area thoughts..
