Okay...so maybe not man-eating, but my wife sure seems to think that's what these things are capable of.

So...what is it? I assume some sort of caterpillar, but it's definitely the biggest I've ever seen. It's got tiny little claws for feet and seems to spit some green goo whenever it gets ticked (ie. when I pick it off our tomato plants).

I haven't seen it eating our veggies (we've found them just clinging to the stems of tomato plants), but I assume they could do some serious damage if we don't get rid of them when we see them?
