Woodchucks

Well, finally I think nature solved my woodchuck problem. After years of battling with them, they have moved out. This is due, I am sure, to the red fox family that moved in next door, in the wooded lot adjacent to our property. I've noticed the fox carrying off bunnies (sad, but that is the food chain) and I certainly hope he or she has cleaned out the baby woodchucks too. Or maybe Chuckie decided it was time to move on, with a hungry carnivore next door. Thank God!

Uhm, with my chicken flock, as much as I love and admire the fox, I'll stick with the nasty, greedy, glutonous rodent with the big teeth.

My sister has chickens too, but her 2 large dogs keep the fox at a distance. I have no dog or chickens, so I am happy to have the fox as a neighbor.

Looked out my window yesterday to see a woodchuck no less than 20 feet up a tree. It was wedged between the trunk and the lowest limb. My dog was sitting below just watching. That was weird! I brought the dog in and a few hours later it was gone.
