why did you spray for powdery mildew???

is the vigor of the plant truly impacted ??? at 9 feet long???

could we have a pic of the whole???

i havent done beans in 20 years or so ... but dont they produce and die rather quick ... meaning its not a long season??? i am asking the rest of the peeps ...

in other words.. maybe the plant has matured.... and its growing season has peaked??

perhaps you might get that answer in the veg forum.. if no one here can answer

I sprayed with the potassium bicarbonate because at first I thought it was rust and potassium should work on that or at least slow it down long enough that the vines can produce mature pods. Then, it started to spread and I started to wonder if it was some sort of blight or something besides a fungus at work and maybe I needed to change tactics.

The bottom part of the vines are pretty much covered in this, but the top of the poles are okay. It's spreading upward.

Since I don't know exactly what this is, I don't know how much damage it will do to the vines and/or the pods before they put out actual lima seeds. There are some large pods at the bottom, but the seeds are still developing in the pods and some very small pods at the top so I have a ways to go before I get any actual lima beans.

How I treat the plant (If any treatment is even necessary) will depend on what it is. Its possible that this is a non-issue, but there's no way for me to know that unless I know what this is.
