If so, nothing you can do except wait & see what happens next.

If you really do have rust, there may be nothing you can do...
"Wait and see" is probably as good a policy as any.
That new growth looks pretty healthy, at any rate!

"Turned rust" seldom means that the leaf has rust.
More often than not, it means that the leaf turned brown.
