aster yellows

Last year I suspected aster yellows in my purple coneflowers.I have 4 plants in this bed & they all have flowers & buds like the examples I've seen online.I will dig them out but what can I put in this spot.Will other flowers such as cosmos & zinnias get infected?

You can put anything you want there. If it's aster yellows, it's spread by leafhoppers, not soil.

Rose, please aware that hundreds of different kinds of plants can become infected with Aster's Yellows disease if infected leafhoppers are plentiful.
