Pretty bug, never seen before-Candy Striped Leaf hopper?

I was looking at one of the Hibiscus plants, and this cool looking insect caught my eye, so I grabbed the camera. After typing in a description on Google, the closest match seems to be this Leaf Hopper. Is this indeed one of those?I only see the one. Just thought I'd share.

You'll get more respect if you call it the Red Banded leaf hopper....:-) Pretty little things, aren't they?

Thanks for the tip...entomology not one of my strengths-nor is gardening, actually.Never would've known any name for it without looking it up. Just a novice, enjoying the benefits of Garden Web's members' experience. Lots of pest issues this year for some reason. Have had to search for help alot this month- so glad I found this site. Anyway, I just thought it was pretty as well, and figured I'd post its picture. Thanks again!

Pretty as they might be, the decimated my mint and rosemary last year. And they are back again this year - any suggestions??
