What to do here? Ideas please!!! :)

I have this little setup on the front edge of my property on the right side of the driveway. It was installed by the previous owner to basically cover up the transformers and underground utitlies box. Follow the links for pictures. Any ideas on how to update this to look acceptable. The wife doesn't like the cedar tree and I don't necessary like the ground cover currently being used. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Also, I have a similar question for the other front corner of my lot. This is a blank slate and is also utilities boxes that need to be covered up somehow. Any ideas? Pics below at the links.
