Could that damage be from last winter instead of insects?
What makes you think the damage is from insects?
Which insects have you seen?

I am in northeast (Mass) area. We saw it in the past so it is not winer damage related I guess. There was a landscape guy stopped my yard and left the notes saying there is an insect infection. i thought maybe I can do some DYI first.

the guy was a fraud ...

if it was there last fall ... then how did the insect stay all winter..

snip out the dead stuff.. back to a live shoot..

and skip the chems ...

and if you see that guy again.. call the cops...

the juniper has juniper tip blight... not a bug.

the second is a chamaecyparis .. and i sure looks like dog pee damage ... and whats all the dead stuff to the right.. because it doesnt look like this plant????

Thanks ken_adrian. I guess I will first to remove the dead pieces and see what comes out.

Looks like tip blight to me, which is a fungal issue not an insect problem.

gardengal48, if it is fungal issue, after I clean the dead pieces out, any chemical I need to treat it?
