black bug

In the last week I have found a black insect feeding at night on my astilbe and lady's mantle blossoms alongside asiatic garden beetle. It is about 1/2 inch long, skinny, black, with wiggly antennae in front and more antennae (or spiky things?) in the back. It has one segmented section which allows it to bend/curve, and a separate head or thorax. Any ideas? I can try to get a picture tomorrow if no one knows. thanks.

Could be a "black wingless weevil" They eat at nite too!

I think it's an earwig. My memories of earwigs were that they were larger and more beetle-like, not so small and bendy. Maybe there are different varieties--I remember ones on our back porch growing up. But the pictures match pretty well.
