Have you noticed cucumber beetles around your plants at all? The symptoms you've described could be those of bacterial wilt, spread by the beetles.

But it could be that other factors are causing the wilt....you haven't told us anything about the size of the containers, type of potting medium, watering frequency and duration, or anything at all about how you're growing these plants.

We need a lot more information to be able to really help you. But do keep a watch for the cucumber beetles, both striped and spotted.

how big is the pot??? .. and what is the media ...

and as the plants mature.. i dont know how you can manage water ... without the pots going from sodden to bone dry every day ...

and if that is happening.. then you have incredibly stressed plants..

and once you have stressed plants.. all kinds of things can start happening ... such as wilts ... both the disease.. and the plant literally wilting ...

i dont know if there is a melon forum ... but i would sure research how to grow melon in pots.. and find out if that works .. especially in regard to 3 in one pot ... and i doubt any of us have that experience ...

i wonder had you culled to one plant per pot.. would we be having this conversation ????

not 3 plants in one pot. I have several containers that some I grew one plant and bigger ones have two plants.

I grew 2 containers last year and the plants looks good. So I increase the # of plants this year with similar condition. The soil is Miracle Gro Potting soil and I water in morning and at night

One strange thing is that I have 2 plants in one container, one was wilted and the other still looks healthy.

I suspect it's bacterial wilt now as I saw few cucumber beetles as descibed by RHIZO_1.

This is what it looks like. The root is drying and cut off nutrients. Any suggestion on what is happening?
