Insecticidal soap ONLY works if the pest is sprayed directly with the product, or ambles through it when still wet. So, unless you can catch the culprits in the act, you're wasting your time and money by spraying simply because you see damage.

Do some detective work after dark, look under the leaves. You really need to find the insect (s) before you can come up the best solution.

There used to be a lot of little flies (not sure what kind) all over the plants. Once I started using the insecticidal soap they went away. Tonight I went out and looked at the plants with a flash light. I saw spiders and earwigs. I sprayed the earwigs I saw with the insecticidal soap and set some traps for others. We will see what the traps look like in the morning!
