Stumped-TINY black beetles inside my squash roots

When a Hubbard recently collapsed I assumed Squash Vine borers but when I dug down around the stem with my fingers I saw no hole, no frass, and then I sliced the stem and saw nothing.

It recovered overnight but collapsed again today. When I took it inside I split the healthy stem and root and found ONE section with frass and tiny tiny black beetle looking things. Moving around pretty quickly but too small to photo (smaller than a seed tick!)

Bacterial wilt........no signs of ANY issues this year and no problems with cucumber beetle eggs and just a few bugs....

SVB...I lost one Hubbard to this a few weeks ago and this does not look like SVB damage plus there was no kind of worm.

I am going to dig around my other Hubbards as another nearby is starting to look a bit sad...... I bought some spinosad for limited use with a pickleworm infestation and am going to inject in the other stems of the wilty looking plants and see if that helps. Not sure what else TO do.
