sudden yellowing and drying of Fuji apple tree - HELP!!

Hello,
My ~approx 4 year old Fuji apple tree is showing a sudden yellowing of leaves and the apples are drying out. This is the first year that we have apples and I am not sure what caused this. Also wondering if the tree is going to die. I am including pictures if that helps. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Regarding watering: Our problem is that we have squashes and tomatoes right around it and under and we water them regularly , so I am now wondering if it could be from overwatering? could it be? the why would the fruits start drying? Posting a picture of the whole tree. please let me know if I could send a better picture. Thanks! Will post in fruit forum.

The fruits are drying for the same reason that the leaves are wilting - not enough water pressure from the roots. It could be under-watering or a root problem. Any chance you damaged the roots when you planted close?

BTW, I see that you're in CA. Has it been particularly hot where you are? It could be that fujis don't like it hot.
