Anyone growing tomatoes needs to be familiar with hornworns. Yours is the Tobacco hornworm, Manduca sexta. The red horn is one of the things that makes it easy to differentiate from the Tomato hornworm with a black tail.

Do some reading so that you can ID the tiny eggs and learn what the babies look like. It's better to get rid of them before they get to be so huge.

Those cocoons will hatch braconid wasps...harmless to humans. The wasps lay eggs in the hornworm that hatch into larva which will eat the hornworm and weaken it. Hornworm will die after wasps hatch from cocoons. Good to have them in the garden.
