Its the pupae of a beetle...looks like that of a Colorado potato beetle, also a pest of tomatoes.

Ken's not a yeller, just a huge fan of punctuation. I think he was trying to entertain everyone with a pic of a strange critter and plausible guess since the original pic went AWOL, which happens to a lot of people.

And I think this is why... When you "browse" a picture to show, then click "preview," the pic info is no longer in the box next to the browse button at the bottom. So if you edit your comments again and click preview, the picture is gone. I suspect that's what happened.

When I'm using that, I copy what gets put in the box after clicking browse so I have it ready to paste if I notice I need to edit again after clicking preview. They've made that tricky because clicking in the box will open the browse window again. You have to let that happen, then click cancel, or start there for your browse so your cursor is in the box after you come back from the browse. Now you can use the keyboard to select and copy what's there.

Or just know you need to browse your pic again after each edit.

thanks, all, even, or especially, you, ken, lol. non-life threatening emergencies have kept me away from the computer lately. pulled the volunteer and all its' insects and cooked to death (big time!) in black plastic bag left in the sun and then composted. haven't seen any more yet...
