Sunflower assault! Wasp? Grub? Ug.

So, I was awaiting the final ripening of a Large sunflower that was fat with seeds. Checking on it every other day or so. Yesterday morning I find something has burrowed into the back and all the way through the front popping out ripe seeds like a bullet went through it O.o Upon examination I find no creature but a nest of leaves cut up. What could be doing this? It killed the surrounding seeds and but stems are all intact :-(
I DID see this morning a tiny wasp like bug carrying a small leaf stuck inside a lil rolling greenhouse I have nearby...so I was thinking a small wasp making a nest for it's grubby babies? Ug I love my sunflowers and they are still producing like MAD so I cut this plant down and took pics.
