they may not look pretty ... but are the leaves failing???? .. are they skeletonized????

we have to start with ruling out some cosmetic damage.. as compared to damage that effects the plant ... at least i would ...

i dont get to overly concerned.. by august.. that plants get tired.. or i should say.. 'look' tired ... or have cosmetic damage ...

I was amazed at how well my eggplants are producing despite the holes. These plants have earned my respect.

That said I tried some diatomaceous earth the other day and it seemed to work but I am going to give it some time--Basically I hope it does because of my plans for fall cabbage. Before it goes in the soil will get a treatment of beneficial nematodes

One thing about the DE is keeping it out of the flowers so you don't hurt bees.

Neem Oil products, Surround, (a Kaolin clay product), and Insecticidal Soaps have been shown to be fairly good at control of flea beetles. For future reference the link below may be of some help.
