I saw these insects on some orange crocosmia. I couldn't tell if they were eating the plants or just hanging around. They are about the size of a dog tick and are very fast (which makes me think they are beneficial and not eating the plant). It was difficult to get a good picture because of the light, but you can see them clustered right near (I assume) their egg mass).

| Look like stink bugs. Some are beneficial, some aren't. Don't know which you have. Where do you live? |

| I'm in New Jersey. I think you're right. After googling "stink bug nymph" I found the below link. That's pretty close to what I saw. If they're still there tomorrow I'll take a closer look. They did seem solid black, but the light was poor and it was beginning to rain so I didn't stay to examine them closely. We were trying to decide whether to leave them or get rid of them. |

| Check up for info about BMSB, the brown marmorated stink bug. If that's what you have either squish or drown them, immediately! |
