ants on muskmelon plants

Should I be concerned about the ants on my muskmelons? I know they farm aphids but I haven't found any yet.

If I should get rid of them, how?

thanks so much

RE: ants on muskmelon plants

Since ants are on a constant search for food, and moisture, that is what they are doing and there is really nothing to be concerned about. Ants help clean up this planet after us and are not pests in spite of what most of us have been taught all of our lives, unless those ants are in the house.
