Ozone damage?

I believe the damage on my watermelon to be from ozone.

Does this look like it to anyone else?

If so, do you think the plants will survive?

We have had some days of excessive heat, humidity, and air quality alerts. The plants are also in 12 gallon containers next to my neighbors driveway, and their truck puts out really bad emissions.

I think the emissions along with the overcrowded roots have exacerbated the condition.

My other thought was micro nutrient deficiency but they get fed a micro fert and the damage is only to the tops of the leaves and is affecting leaves at random, old and new alike. No evidence of any major pest infestation, and curiously the leaves best sheltered from the sun and exhaust exposure are in much better shape.

Any thoughts or advice appreciated.
