Fire ant hills in my raised beds

I have some raised beds with like 12-14 inches of a really good compost-soil mix that I set up at the beginning of the year. Over the past few weeks I've been seeing more and more ants, and today I found multiple anthills in the beds, and when I dug around one I saw a bunch of eggs right under the surface. We have a lot of fire ants around here and I've seen some hills around the yard. We've had a whole lot of rain lately and these beds have stayed very damp and at times saturated over the past several weeks. They look like fire ants but I've heard fire ants avoid overly wet places. I've caught them climbing my tomato plants and digging into any tomatoes that have split open. Anyone have an idea of what kind of ants these are, and what I can do about them that will keep my soil safe for vegetables?
