Cabbage loopers

So I started a test garden of differant vegetables and planted potato and broccoli to name a few. I first noticed holes in the potato leaves. Then my beautiful broc coli leaves went from full to skeletal. I have identified the cabbage looper as the culprit. I hand picked and used several rounds of BT powder to try and stop them. They waited for a two week stint of me not keeping up treatments and came back full force. Broccoli is ruined now and I'm left with the question is it worth growing anything they like where I live. I have the time to care for plants but I'm looking to grow a large grow eventually and cannot keep up with these things. I do know that the previous owner of my property used to grow cabbage if that helps any, but this was years ago. On the other hand my tomatoes are fine. So should abandon any dreams of a diverse grow to avoid them?
