What's killing my squash?

This is the 2nd year that something had killed my yellow squash plants. Zucchini went next. Now cucumber vines are dying. They are all planted next to each other. No visible signs of bugs. Something is getting roots. Looks like the roots have been eaten away. Don't know how to fix because don't know problem. Help me!

how many years have you planted them in the same spot???

Where in the United States are you? The 45118 zip code is for someplace in Ohio so possibly Voles are what are eating those plant roots, might be root maggots, might be something else.
