Red Lily Beetles

I have had problems with this nasty little bug for years. I went to our local (and best) garden shop, and found most people in NH call them "Red Devils". I was told they only eat lilies, and was sold something called "Seven". I've been using it every spring, as soon as i see the little red devils, i spray my lilies. Last year my lilies did so well, they grew to almost 5 feet tall!!! Seven is in a red spray bottle, it does not bother my cat, who likes to sleep in my flower beds, or my dog.

Oh my. You may want to read up on the signs of pesticide poisoning for carbaryl (active ingredient in Sevin) . Cats are especially sensitive.

Since it is a cholinesterasr inhibitor, you should be careful, too.

i dont quite see a question in your post ...

i hope you read the label.. and are using the sevin according to such ..

odds are.. your lily are smaller this year.. due to the horrible winter.. and very late spring ...
