Sounds like physical damage. Is the tan branch in the picture cracked and "wobbly?"

Hi - I didn't notice any breaks or cracks in any of the center branches. They just seem to pull away from the center very easily. I have two other velvet boxwoods planted next to this one - yet they look fine.

cut out the dead part .. back to a branch with green leaves ..

IMHO .... disease nor bugs.. would attack a single branch ..
