Katydid eggs. Katydids, in most locations are not considered a pest, even though they do chew on plants. If that's a valuable plant and a young one, you could squish the eggs or physically remove them in some other manner. No chemicals of any kind, organic or otherwise, required.

Geez. I always killed them because they eat my plants.

Rhizo, how the hell do you always know what eggs belong to what bugs or what catapillers turn into what...I am so impressed! If you don't mind sharing, what is your profession?

Side note, it is so strange how pretty insect eggs will look all lined up on a leaf...almost like an artist did it instead of a disgusting bug.

I'm a horticultural consultant by profession but have been fascinated by insects and other arthropods since I was little. And when attending Va. Tech, I made a nuisance out of myself in the Department of Entomology in my junior and senior years!

Watch out, the more you learn about 'disgusting bugs', the more beautiful and remarkable they become.

It is true...bugs are cool. One winter I took care of about 10 ladybugs. They lived in my bathroom. I made them a home with sleeping areas and gave them water, grapes, and raisins (can you tell I don't have kids - lol). What was strange is that they had different personalities, and I grew to really like a couple of them.

After that experience I was way less afraid of bugs in general. And of course, my place has a strict "no kill" policy. All bugs that are unwanted are escorted out the door, even earwigs. Except the mealybug. I sorta feel guilty killing them but I do experience some pleasure as well. They are just such JERKS!
