Something attacking sweet mint badly

Hi,

My mint leaves all have holes all over them. Some are almost chewed off the stem. I don't know what is causing this. I checked the plant and find no insects. It bothers me cause the whole mint plant is ugly and none of the mint is useable. Anyone got an idea what is causing this and how I could stop it?

It happens, especially at the end of the season. Cut it back. It will regrow.

Possible reason you can't locate the culprits -- could be night-workers.
