Millipedes are rcyclers of organic matter, they eat moist, decaying vegetative waste. Their presence in your potting soil may be an indication that soil is being kept too wet.

are you using soil.. mother earth..

or potting media ...

mother earth is not good in the house ... mostly because it has bugs in it ...

most likely.. whichever you used.. there were eggs in it ...

check out the link.. sterilize all potting MEDIA ... before use.. even if the package claims it already has been ..

repot ... using MEDIA.. not soil.. and you should be all set ..

as an aside.. why are you fertilizing.. now that winter is coming.. and the sun is in decline.. even in your area??? ... fert should be applied as the sun inclines.. which means as spring starts to roll in ... and you new media should be good enough for the next few months ...

Vrtnar42, I am a bit confused as to whether they are millipedes or centipedes.

Millipede bodies are rounded and have 2 pair of legs per body segment.

Centipedes are somewhat flattened and have one pair of legs per segment.

OP's creatures appear rounded to me. As for # legs per segment, my eyes can't determine just how many -- as rhizo would say, Magoo glasses might help.
